About Orígenes

Everything has a case file

Orígenes is a YouTube channel and this website. Each video answers a question people ask every day —what is the origin of…?— as an archive case file: numbered, with clues, records and a stamped verdict.

For now, the case files are in Spanish.

Who we are

Two former teachers, a hand-built system and one rule: if a fact doesn't add up, it doesn't ship.

The channel's story

  1. Act I

    Two teachers and a question

Before opening the archive, Germán taught for over fifteen years, in primary school and adult training, and Noe was a kindergarten teacher for eight. They brought one certainty out of the classroom: a good question beats a memorized answer.

  2. Act II

    Case file, not episode

Case file and not episode, because an episode asks to be watched in order and a case file asks to be collected. A number is never reused. Germán built the system behind each one —the research, the code-driven animation, the brand— and Noe reviews every script before it goes out.

  3. Act III

    Jokes yes, made-up facts no

We tell history with dry punchlines and an old-school announcer. The satire targets the myth, the powerful and absurd bans; never a people or a culture. Every fact has a source: here's how we research.

  4. Act IV

The site adds, it doesn't repeat

Each case file on the site brings what the video left out: context, debates between historians, a timeline, a map, FAQs and every source. The video is the door; the full archive is here.

  5. Act V

    The archive opens

On September 30, 2026 we released case file Nº 01, on the origin of the Romani people. Since then the archive has grown one case at a time.
